How Do You Present Training Inexpensively When Dollars
Are Tight
To
deal with large group training for those mandatory topics of training we
have developed “Super Sessions” on three frequently requested topics.
You can train your whole staffs in one or two days with these 1.5 hour
sessions as listed below. To maximize your cost effectiveness you can
partner with neighboring jurisdictions and pool resources to accomplish
what you need to get done. If you have an interest in doing this give
Steve a call and he can brainstorm with you how easily this can be
accomplished. These are the “Super Sessions” most often asked for:

New
Website Called Get Simply Smart at
www.getsimplysmart.com
A couple of years ago I
got this idea of how great would it be to have newsletters and training
materials readily available to organizations where the material was
created for them but if they didn’t like an article they could still
customize the materials to the way they wanted them. If you are
interested in training via newsletters for supervisors and employees and
having training materials available my new website is for you. The site
is dedicated to the K.I.S.S. principle. People always tell you to keep
it simple but we really show you how. You can train and communicate
with your employees for pennies a day and most of the work is done for
you! Check out our website Get Simply Smart at
www.getsimplysmart.com where you can obtain dozens of newsletters
and training materials for just $149 to $249 a year. Use the materials
as is or customize them to your needs. The best part is the amount of
materials that is at your fingertips just keeps growing.
Employee
Interventions
What
do you do when two or more employees can’t get along and they are
driving the organization crazy? Maybe it is one of those issues
where you are afraid the relationship will get worse and degenerate into
a race, gender, age, or ethnic issue. Steve has been doing
interventions with employees for over two decades. It is one of the
areas that Steve rarely comments about. If you have a situation
existing or one that is brewing give Steve a call to discuss the kinds
of help he can offer your organization.
Collaborative Reviews
Want an economical way to "raise the bar"
in a particular department? Want it done with the employees rather
than done to the employees? The Training Tree's Collaborative Reviews
are just the answer.
A collaborative review is not an audit report prepared by a consultant
on what is “right” or “wrong” with a department. It is a facilitated
process where the department makes an assessment of where it wants to
be, where it is, and begins the journey to get there. It was developed
to show departments how to harness the power of their employees in
making assessments, recommendations, and changes to improve their
operation. In other processes a report card of what is wrong with the
department is created that often puts a stigma on employees and
divisions within the department. In collaborative reviews the
department drives its own improvement in a systematic way. It is the
department making assessments, reviews of operations, and changes. It
is the department focusing on asking the right questions of itself and
moving towards improvement.
The purpose
of a review is to facilitate change by the employees who know the
operations better than anyone else. It enables the organization to
move forward completely energized by employee ideas. The result is
employees know that they made the changes and improved the organization
by their efforts. They are more supportive and protective of the
department as they become a more involved stakeholder in the department.
Let Steve facilitate this process and involve your employees and harness
"energy" into "action". Call Steve at 727-415-0061 or

him for more information on getting this started in your organization.
Creating Excellence in Service
Delivery
Have Steve come in and work with your
departments in “raising the bar” and creating exceptional customer
service delivery that is citizen-centered. By working with departments
Steve will show them how to pick projects and initiatives that will
increase customer satisfaction and harness the productivity that is
within their employees. If your departments have said that there is
never enough time to work on improving the service delivery within their
department Steve will show them how a simple process can be used every
year to accomplish this goal where they are in complete control! This
organizational development process takes an initial workshop and two
other sessions during the year to assist departments in creating a new
reality of action and closure.
View a sample PowerPoint presentation of Steve's seminar. Give
Steve a call and he can show you that harnessing the energy for
improvement can be fun and is within the grasp of every department.

Training Consortium:
An easy way to increase your training effectiveness. Partner with
neighboring jurisdictions and stretch your training dollars. A training
consortium is the "right way to go" for large and small jurisdictions who want
to continually offer a core of classes on a yearly basis. Inter-jurisdictional training
has numerous advantages over traditional training approaches. Finding the right
companion organizations that share a similar commitment are the challenges that await
those who believe a training consortium is ideal. The advantages are far beyond
simple economics.
